Description

MELALEUCA DIOSMATIFOLIA

“Rosy Paperbark”

Family: Myrtaceae.

Sprouting: 14-42 days.

Also known as Rosy Honey Myrtle.  Previously known as Melaleuca erubescens. Sometimes the name is confused with M. diosmifolia but the plants are quite different.

Native of woodlands in NSW and SE QLD, grows to 3m x 2m erect, open shrub with delicate, pale to deep mauve flowers.

Prefers well-drained, sandy soil that is hummus rich and a sunny postion.

Hardy, growing successfully in a wide range of soils, including those that are poorly drained. Easily cultivated, it has attractive flowers which are reported not to fade as quickly as others and, can be pruned to keep a bushy shape, and is often used as a screening plant, relatively common in cultivation, (usually as Melaleuca erubescens).
