Description

BRACHYCHITON BIDWILLII        “Red Kurrajong”

Family:  Malvaceae

Sprouting: 10-42 days.

Native to a small area of SE QLD Queensland, this small, attractive tree is adaptable to most soils and conditions in temperate or subtropical climates, drought and frost tolerant to -6C.

With a shapely trunk and large-lobed leaves, it develops clusters of pink to red star-shaped flowers direct from the branches during late winter and spring.  These are followed by the familiar boat-shaped seed pods that Brachychiton species is known for.
