High in iron, it is very healthy, containing various other vitamins and minerals. fast and easy to grow, delicious, versatile, and even grows a pretty flower at the top to brighten up the garden or pot.  Besides being a staple in most culinary kitchens and herb gardens, Chives also make great companion plants for carrots and help to keep insects away.  Can be used raw or cooked in salads, soups, casseroles and dips.
