Perennial.
A short, aquatic tropical, narrow leaf variety vine that can be successfully grown in moist soil. Grows to around 30cm tall with trailing stems that can grow to 2-3m long. Water Spinach grows rapidly at warm temperatures, likes swampy places. Best over 15°C. Can be grown as an annual or in a greenhouse in cool or cold areas.
Leaves and stems can be picked at any growth stage once plants have become established. Young shoots eaten raw or cooked, older shoots cooked.
