Annual to 80cm. Also known as perilla, red shiso, beefsteak plant, and summer coleus. Aromatic Japanese herb that tastes like a cross between mint and basil. Used in traditional Chinese medicine.
May be used for salads and garnishes, for flavouring raw fish, bean curd, pickles and tempura. Also used in rice dishes, sashimi, and as a sushi wrap.
