Schoenoplectus Validus-'River Club Rush'- Seeds
SCHOENOPLECTUS VALIDUS “River Club Rush”
1 scoop: approx 500 seeds
Family: Cyperaceae
Sprouting: 10-60 days.
Bluish-green upright, reedy foliage with brown tassels near the top of the 1.5-2m stem. Grows in fresh water in swamps, creeks, lakes, dams, and on the edges of coastal lagoons and rivers, where it spreads to populate the waters’ edge, providing habitat for native frogs, insects, water birds and young fish. It will die back a bit in Winter but will re-shoot in Spring. As a macrophyte it also helps in the removal of nutrients from storm water runoff. Quick to establish after planting and good for preventing erosion in wet areas and banks. Frost tolerant. Suitable for sandy, loamy, clay, and poor drainage situations.
