MELALEUCA BRACTEATA        “Black Tea-tree” 

1 scoop (approx 1000+ seeds)

Family: Myrtaceae. 

Ideal sowing temp: 18-22C. 

Sprouting: 14-42 days. 

Also known as ‘river tea-tree’ and ‘mock olive’. 

Native to northern Australia in NSW, QLD WA, and a few isolated areas in SA, it grows to 10m in ideal conditions but usually grows as an erect, open shrub to around 5m with cream or white-coloured flowers.

Known to grow anywhere in cultivation, it has become quite popular due to it’s compact shape and profuse flowering ability. It has many uses across a broad range of applications, including making household items.

Drought Tolerant (once established); Full Sun or Shade; Moderately Frost Tolerant; can be grown as a hedge or screen; know to tolerate waterlogged areas.
