Extremely low maintenance and resilient perennial grass native to Australia with brownish flower heads formed on spikes throughout the year. A rhizomatous plant that forms clumps with upright arching, bright green stems. Tolerant of drought, frost, saline soil, waterlogged soil, and coastal conditions including salt spray. Seeds are considered edible and the tough leaves can be used for basket-weaving.
